What If Your Concern Is Not a Fire Safety or Emergency Situation?

We are often called about highly frustrating matters that are not specific Fire Emergencies. Though our Firefighters are limited to Fire Emergencies and Concerns, we are pleased to direct you to experts who can handle other important and seemingly related issues...

• All property complaints and code violations are handled by the Town of Amherst Building Department. Please call: (716) 631-7141.
• All open burn permits are handeled through the Town of Amherst Building Department.  Please fill out this form and call (716) 631-7141
• Report illegal parking by calling the Amherst Police at (716) 689-1311
• Any leaking fire hydrant, broken water supply line should be reported immediately to Amherst Fire Control by calling: (716) 689-1212
• If you have a question regarding household hazardous waste disposal, or would like information on the next scheduled collection event, please call the Erie County Household Hazardous Waste Hotline at 1-716-858-680
• Questions regarding the disposal of medications are referred to the NYS Department of Enviormental Conservation or by calling them at 716) 858-6800, option 3.
