Rescue 5

         Rescue 5 is a 1990 Simon-Duplex/Saulsbury Heavy Rescue truck.  Rescue 5 features a rear and side door walk-in area.   The 20' rescue body serves as a command center with radios, cross band radio transceivers, cellular phones, maps and district information.  A 15,000 watt Harrison Hydraulic P.T.O. driven generator with a 30' Will-Burt light tower are teamed with Holmatro Rescue Tools, Fire/EMS mass casualty and rescue equipment. Rescue 5 also holds specialized gear and equipment for our New York State Certified confined space rescue team.  It also has a Bullard T-3 thermal imaging camera for searching for trapped victims in smoke and fire conditions.  Rescue 5 has 6 Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (air packs), 2 downed Firefighter air packs, and 4 special low profile confined space rescue team air packs on board. Rescue 5 also has hot and cold running water for use in Firefighter rehabilitation after long duration incidents.  Rescue 5 is housed at Fire Station number 1.
